The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company has a long tradition of service to the Community. The Company was first organized in 1906 and then was reorganized in 1923 with 31 Active Members. Since that time 555 Men and Women have Volunteered their time and services to provide the Rehoboth Area with quality Fire and Ambulance Service. The Company's first Apparatus consisted of a 1923 Model T Ford Truck, a Hand-Pulled Chemical Apparatus and Two Han-Pulled Hose Carts which were housed in the Old Town Hall located at 43 Rehoboth Avenue.
The present Company was incorporated in 1925. In 1929, the property at 43 Rehoboth Avenue was given to the Company by the City of Rehoboth Beach. Later in 1929 the Fire Station was moved to the back of the property so that it faced out onto Baltimore Avenue. In 1930 the lots adjoining the Fire Station were purchased and constuction of the New Fire Station was completed in 1931. The New Fire House cost $11,400 with most of the labor and materials being donated.
