Rickards joined the Lewes Fire Department on October 2, 1962 President Rickards dedicated 39 Years of the Service to the Department 25 Years as Chief or Asst. Chief 13 Years as President 10 Years as Secretary 2 Years as Treasurer 1997 - Inducted into Volunteer Fire Service Hall of Fame 1992 - inducted into Fireman's Historical Foundation 1996-1997 President Del-Mar-Va Volunteer Fireman's Association Honorary Member Town Bank, NJ Fire Department Chief Rickards also served the Citizens of Delaware for 25 years as a Trooper with the Delaware State Police
